MOTORISTS are being warned that Sutton Bank, near Thirsk, is to be closed for one day for essential maintenance prior to the Tour De Yorkshire.
The works will be carried out between 9.30am and 4pm on April 19 - after and before morning and afternoon peak traffic periods.
“Sutton Bank carries the A170 up a one in four gradient round hairpin bends” said the county;s executive member for highways, Cllr Don Mackenzie.
“As a result we have to carry out regular maintenance and must ensure that the road is up to standard for the Tour de Yorkshire.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but we have avoided peak traffic times to minimise disruption.”
