OLYMPIC tobogganist Rebekah Wilson went back to school to teach pupils some winning moves.

Ms Wilson represented Team GB at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, competing in the two-women bobsleigh event.

And she put the 32 children at Pickhill Primary School, near Thirsk, through their paces as they did star jumps and press-ups, among other exercises.

The visit was part of the Sports for Champions scheme, set up in 2009 by Darren Emmanuel, who works with more than 30 athletes and aims to get children more involved in sport and eating more healthily.

The pupils raised £686 in sponsorship, some of which will be used to buy some new outdoor play equipment for the school.

Ms Wilson, 24, who also did a presentation for the pupils, said: “My message to the children is establish who you are and what you’re good at and never give up, even though sometimes life can be difficult.”
