TWO people were taken to hospital, one by air ambulance, following a collision on the A19 near Thirsk this afternoon (Monday, April 27).
Police, firefighters and paramedics all attended the scene, close to the Church Lane junction, in Thormanby, when a Peuegot 206 and Mitsubishi Space Star were in collision.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a man in his late 20s, was cut out of the car and flown by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary suffering from non life-threatening abdominal and chest injuries. Another man was taken to York Hospital with minor injuries.
A section of the road was closed for two hours while the emergency services were at the scene.
