THE comic and occasionally rude treatment of British prime ministers by political cartoonists over the centuries is to be explored by speaker Tony Daniels in “From Walpole’s bottom to Theresa’s shoes” as part of the Stokesley Society’s continuing winter programme.

"It promises to be a lively evening as, surprisingly perhaps, cartoonists today can seem very mild-mannered when compared with those of previous times," said a spokesman for the society.

The event will be held at Stokesley town hall on February 26 at 7.30pm. Admission will be £2 at the door, which will include refreshments.
