AN exhibition that brings out the colours of the North York Moors has gone on display.

The Moor Colours show at the Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole comprises 19 original works by artist Sue Slack.

She shows her passion for the moors using her style of colour to depict the changing landforms, shapes, moor, trees and fields of the national park.

Sue, from Lockton, said: "It is the shape of the land which first attracts me, followed by the light and shadows playing over it."

Museum director Jennifer Smith said: “Sue Slack has brightened up our art gallery space just in time for the spring.

“Her attractive and colourful paintings are sure to be a hit with visitors to the museum and the area.

“Sue has an amazing ability to see the landscape and then produce work which reflect the place she loves in a vivid and cheerful way.”

Moor Colours is on show in Ryedale Folk Museum’s free-to-visit art gallery space until April 29. The art gallery is open daily during this period from 10am to 5pm.
