A ROAD has been closed after an anti-fracking protestor jumped onto a moving heavy goods vehicle this afternoon.
Police monitoring the continuing protests at Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire closed the road after the demonstrator jumped on the HGV at about 3.20pm today.
Officers are currently at the scene working to remove the woman from the top of the vehicle.
Habton Road remains closed, and residents and businesses are urged to use alternative routes for their journeys. The road is likely to remain closed for some time.
Superintendent Alisdair Dey said: “This action will cause very significant disruption to the community, including people on their way back from work and school.
"Officers are at the scene and doing everything they can to minimise the impact on local people.”
