POLICE stopped six drivers driving at speeds of between 109mph and 135mph during a clampdown.
The incidents happened on the A64 in North Yorkshire in one night.
North Yorkshire Police stopped all the drivers on the stretch of road between Malton and York, at speeds of 135mph, 130mph, 120mph, 115mph, 114mph and 109mph.
Acting Inspector Paul Cording tweeted it was “simply not acceptable”.
After officers registered the speed of the drivers on the road, which switches between dual carriageway and single carriageway, they were stopped and charged.
The speeds at which the motorists were driving were so excessive they will have to be heard in court.
