A WOMAN has been charged after climbing on to a lorry during protests against fracking.

North Yorkshire Police say the 40-year-old woman was arrested on Habton Road, outside Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire at 4.55pm on Thursday.

She will appear at York Magistrates Court in November.

She has been charged with getting on to a motor vehicle whilst it was on a road without lawful authority or reasonable cause.

Third Energy is currently undertaking preparation work at its existing KM8 well site outside Kirby Misperton. Fracking is expected to begin once the Oil and Gas Authority and the Environment Agency have approved the firm’s Hydraulic Fracture Plan, which outlines how it intends to carry out hydraulic fracturing safely.
