A CLASSIC Hollywood musical is coming to the stage in North Yorkshire next month.

Pickering Musical Society is presenting High Society as its spring time musical at the Kirk Theatre from May 2 to 6, featuring the music of Cole Porter.

Following the success of Calamity Jane last year, society stalwart Marcus Burnside will take the leading role of Dexter Haven - made famous by Bing Crosby in the 1956 film.

And Jess Hebron is back on stage following a break to study at university - she will take the role of elegant socialite Tracey Samantha Lord known to many after being portrayed by Grace Kelly.

Supporting roles Liz Imbrie and Mike Connor are played by society regulars Rachel Anderson and Stephen Temple.

The society also welcomes back Michael O’Brien to play the part of Uncle Willie while real life couple Linda and David Tester will play Mr and Mrs Lord.

Tickets can be purchased online at kirktheatre.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01751-474833.
