ACCLAIMED photographer John Illingworth is hosting a one-off exhibition of photography at the Helmsley Arts Centre.

Focusing on landscape photography from across the world, including imagery from Scotland, Yorkshire, Iceland, Venice and more, the exhibition has proved popular with people from across the region who have travelled to Helmsley to see the works.

John, who travelled the world to get the right imagery for the exhibition said: “Even as I press the shutter to make a photograph of the landscape, I am thinking of how I want the image to look when I have processed the raw image from the camera.

“I never try to recreate exactly what appeared in front of my lens, instead I want to put my own interpretation on the scene and will use all the tools of digital photography to do that and create an image which is truly unique.”

John will be attending the Near and Far exhibition every Sunday until and including April 2, when he will be giving talks about his work as well as answering any questions from the public.
