A RUGBY match in memory of a young player who died suddenly on holiday will be held on Friday.
Tom Parsons, who was from West Heslerton in North Yorkshire, was on holiday with friends on the Greek island of Zante, when he died in August.
The 22-year-old had been a stalwart member of Malton and Norton RUFC and was a promising player.
Coach David Newman said: “Tom meant a lot to us and we enjoyed playing with him, so we wanted to remember him in a positive way.
“Everyone we have spoken to has said it will be an honour to be involved and they are really keen to remember Tom in this way as he was such a fantastic lad.”
- The match will be held at The Gannock, Malton, at 7pm. A hog roast and race night afterwards will raise cash for future rugby tours.
