JEWELLERY has been stolen in a spate of burglaries in Ryedale – much of it unique and with sentimental value to its owners.

On September 16 a house in Hovingham was burgled and jewellery stolen, including a sapphire engagement ring containing a 22ct diamond surrounded by six oval sapphire stones and six diamond stones.

Now North Yorkshire Police are appealing to anyone with information who could help their investigation or who has knowledge of the stolen property and its whereabouts.

They particularly want to appeal to retailers who may have either purchased the items in good faith or who have been offered the items for sale.

More jewellery was stolen when a house was burgled in Malton on Saturday, October 1.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact us on 101, select option 2, and ask for Angie Martindale. You can also email angie.martindale@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk, quoting reference number 12160168916 and 12160179057.
