A NEW run which includes famous old racing sites in North Yorkshire is being held to raise money for two charities.
Malton and Norton Rotary Club, in association with Racing Welfare, has organised a Rotary Run 12k Trail Race, which will incorporate the Highfield and Langton Wold Gallops, the training grounds of thoroughbreds since the 17th-century.
Rotary spokesmen Peter Drabble said: “We wanted to do something for the community, as well as support all the people who work in the horse racing industry.
“The Malton gallops are a perfect location for a trail run, and both are a wonderful historic site.”
The timed event will take place on Sunday, September 4, starting at Norton College at 2pm. To pre-book, go to bookitzone.com or for more information, go to ukresults.net
