AS the launch of the region’s newest tourist attraction draws ever closer, organisers have issued some general information to help event run smoothly for spectators.

Up to 8,000 people are expected at each of the 14 performances of Kynren – An epic tale of England at Eleven Arches, Bishop Auckland, over the summer.

Bosses are busy putting the finishing touches to the site, which will be ready to open to the public on Saturday, July 2.

It is the first event of its kind in the country and visitor information has been issued to help people have as an enjoyable experience as possible.

Kynren is a £31m concept modelled on France’s Puy du Foy, in France, and is part of philanthropist Jonathan Ruffer’s vision to regenerate the Bishop Auckland which also includes ambitious multi-million pound plans at Auckland Castle.

TICKETS

Tickets for all the shows are still available, but many of the dates are proving very popular.

To purchase tickets, visit kynren.co.uk or call 0844-5811252.

UMBRELLAS BANNED

Organisers are keen to point out the show is outside and the seating area will be exposed should there be any unseasonable weather. Umbrellas are not allowed as they will restrict the view for others, so warm and waterproof weather is recommended.

TRANSPORT TO THE SHOW

Eleven Arches has teamed up with Nirvana Europe and are offering a dedicated transfer service from many towns and cities across the region.

PARKING

People are urged to familiarise themselves with their parking plans before setting off. Designated sites are available to those who have booked spaces and there are also a number of car parks available in the town centre.

A space in one of the dedicated car parks is priced at £10 if purchased on the night.

The main car park will be onsite with spaces for cast and crew, accessible car parking for blue badge holders, a coach park and shuttle bus drop-off points.

Other ticket holders will be directed to four other car parks, three of which are in Bishop Auckland town centre and a fourth situated at Colliery Fields, Toronto.

The main entrance will be open to vehicles and pedestrians during show nights, although it will be one way traffic only between 10pm and midnight to allow for a rapid dispersal of vehicles.
