AN agricultural show is gearing up to celebrate its 130th year with a knockout event to remember.

With less than two weeks to go to the Malton Show, secretary Annie Welham said there will be a range of new attractions including animal displays, crafts and an It's a Knockout competition.

She said: “There is so much going on this year that's new and exciting. There's such a variety – from the new classic car section, to more than 300 horse entries already received, our highest number of cattle entries ever recorded, more sheep entries than last year, the Malton and Norton Rugby Club hosting the new bar area."

It's a Knockout will start at 1pm and anyone can enter a team. Information packs are available from the show office or via email at office@maltonshow.org.

Other attractions include The Middleton Hunt Parade of the Hounds; sheep dog trials; craft tent; farm exhibits and machinery; trade stands and shopping opportunities with stalls ranging from home accessories and gifts to food and country wear.

Malton Show takes place at Scampston Park, near Malton, on Sunday, July 3.

Entry costs just £10.00 per adult, children under 12 go free, and 12-16 year olds and concessions are £5.00. Further details about the show can be found on the website www.maltonshow.com.
