A NEW scheme to enable all pupils to have access to iPads in lessons is underway at a North Yorkshire school.

As part of the iPad for Learning scheme, the aim is for every student at Malton School to use tablets by February 2017.

The iPads are used to enhance communication between pupils and teachers, as well as allowing different ways of presenting work through a range of apps.

Devices have now been given to Year 9 students, joining Years 10, 12 and 13 who already have them.

Supported by the school’s Year 10 digital leaders, the younger pupils were taught and shown how to use their devices by trained staff.

Teacher Andy Hodgson, the lead on the scheme, said: “It is true to say the iPad for Learning Scheme is a fantastic and popular idea – embraced wholeheartedly by almost all our students.

"It is a different route into learning and brings interest and stimulus for students and teachers.”
