THREE men have been arrested and two remain on the run following a robbery in Pickering, North Yorkshire.

Five men allegedly entered a caravan in Manor Drive at 7.20pm on Tuesday, threatened the occupant and stole valuables.

The occupant was uninjured and the gang fled the scene in a van.

One man has since been released on bail with the others, both aged 21, remaining in police custody.

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said: "Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the occupants of a metallic blue Ford Transit van that was abandoned near Yates and Son on Railway Street in Malton, to contact them.

"The vehicle was abandoned at the location with the engine running. Before stopping, it is believed that the vehicle had collided with bollards in the street. The van has been seized by the investigation team."

Officers, including air support, searched Pickering and Malton for the gang before two were arrested shortly afterwards followed by a third at around 10pm on Tuesday.
