ICONIC cars from the past will be converging on North Yorkshire next month.

The Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole is revving up for its annual Morris Minor car rally on September 6.

The rally, organised by the Yorvik Morris Minor Club, is back at the venue for the sixth year in a row and more than 40 vehicles will be on display.

They include Morris Minors, Austin 1800s, BMW Isettas and Sinclair C5s – and visitors will be able to get up close and chat to the owners.

Club chairman Ian Woodcock said: “We’re delighted to be back at Ryedale Folk Museum. The event has become a popular feature on our members’ calendar and we’re expecting another good turn-out of vehicles this year.”

Museum director Jennifer Smith added: “The classic car rally we held earlier in the year was a big hit with visitors and we expect the Morris Minor rally to be equally popular.

“The cars create a wonderful spectacle around the museum site and the owners do a fantastic job of chatting to our visitors about the cars.”

The cars will be on site from 11am to 4pm and normal admission charges will apply.
