RACING cyclists from all over the country will be heading back to North Yorkshire next month.
Hot on the heels of the successful Tour de Yorkshire comes the Ryedale Grand Prix, with a weekend of racing at Ampleforth Abbey on July 18 and 19.
It will include the 64-mile men’s national junior championship race, the 39-mile woman’s Grand Prix and the men’s93-mile Grand Prix.
“The Ryedale Grand Prix is strategically important to British cycling,” said event organiser Bob Howden.
“Over the years the event has enabled us to develop links for the wider development of cycling.
“Ryedale offers some of the country’s best cycling roads and trails and by showcasing a major event such as the Grand Prix we look to draw cycling visitors to the area as well as helping to establish pro-actively strong cycling clubs and community groups.”
