IT’S lambing time – and the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is offering people a dose of super-cuteness.

The trust’s flock of Hebridean sheep are currently producing lots of little black lambs at Low Carr Farm near Pickering.

And staff and volunteers are throwing open their gates to visitors this Saturday, April 18, between 10am and noon and then 1pm and 3pm

“With 120 sheep in total lambing this year and 40 already having given birth there are plenty of lambs to ‘ahh’ at, plus a good chance of seeing a new born lamb,” said a spokesman.

“This is a unique opportunity to be part of the miracle of life and see some of the behind-the-scenes action happens on farm - not to mention the cute lamb.”

Low Carr Farm - usually closed to the public - is a working farm where the trust’s livestock are cared for in between grazing visits to nature reserves where they are used for ‘conservation grazing’ to provide a varied mix of habitats for wildlife.

All are welcome at Saturday’s sessions but places are limited and booking essential.

There will be a small charge to cover the costs of the event - £3 for members and £5 for non-members.
