FOOD and drink producers are being given the chance to take part in one of the region’s top foodie events.
Applications are now open for the Malton Monthly Food Market and the first of the new season will take place on March 14 in conjunction with the annual Yorkshire Cajun and Zydeco Festival.
The markets will feature some popular favourites, such as free chef demonstrations, along with a wide selection of food and drink stalls.
Director Tom Naylor-Leyland said: “We’re looking forward to the market returning for another great year of delicious food and drink in Malton.
“Last year we had an excellent selection of stalls attending the monthly markets and we introduced the idea of two different chef demos in the cookery theatre in the Milton Rooms, showcasing local culinary talent.”
He added: “The Malton Monthly Food Market formula really works and we will be introducing some fresh ideas, for 2015, which will be announced in due course.”

The dates for 2015 are: March 14, April 11, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14 and December 12. The markets trade from 9am to 3pm.
