A NORTH Yorkshire pub is in the running for a prestigious national honour.
The Bruce Arms at West Tanfield, near Ripon, is a finalist in VisitEngland's AZwards for Excellence 2018.
Working collaboratively with industry, VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence celebrate the best in English tourism.
The Bruce Arms is one of the three finalists in the Tourism Pub of the Year category and the winners will be announced at a ceremony on April 23 at the Assembly Rooms in Bath.
The pub is a coaching inn with three guest bedrooms and dates back to the 18th-century.
Managing director Gil Richardson said: “We are bowled over by the news. Everyone at The Bruce goes out of their way to make our visitors’ stay as enjoyable as possible and it’s wonderful to have achieved some recognition for all the hard work this entails. We love our area of Yorkshire and are proud to be able to show it off in the best possible light.”
