A HORSE and donkey welfare charity is hosting a Valentine’s Day coffee morning to raise funds.
The charity Brooke is hosting its For the Love of Horses event at Chimes Café in Ripon, after owner Mark Stokoe offered his premises for the event and ten per cent of his morning’s proceeds.
There will be a raffle with prizes donated from local businesses including Feedale Farm Riding School at Copt Hewick, interiors store Hector’s House and beauty salon, Beauteous of Ripon.
It will take place at the café from 10am until 12.30pm on February 14.
Brooke is a global animal welfare charity helping working horses, donkeys and mules. It works with owners, communities, governments and international organisations to make lasting improvements to animal welfare.
It’s current campaign, Every Horse Remembered, marks 100 years since the end of the First World War and highlights the struggle of the working animals past and present.
Last year’s event raised £160 for the charity.
