A NEW sponsorship deal that will help talented young footballers to flourish has kicked off.

Lloyd Land Rover Ripon has launched an initiative to support the renowned All Star Football Academy which offers professional coaching to boys and girls from three years old in North Yorkshire.

The aim of the Academy – led by ex-professional footballer Christian Fox – is to bridge the gap between grass roots football clubs and professional academies.

Under the new sponsorship package – to run a minimum of two years – the Lloyds logo will appear on the Academy shirts.

In addition, the Lloyds Cup will be the main prize for young people competing in the Harrogate Schools’ Football tournament this summer.

Set up in 2014 by Mr Fox, who played professionally for York City and now manages Selby Town, The All Star Football Academy runs weekly development coaching for all age groups, school holiday football clubs for children between five and 14, with Rising Stars coaching for three to five-year-olds.
