TALENTED choristers have received a special invitation to the Big Apple to perform at a world-famous venue for classical music.
Ripon Choral Society have the chance to perform at Carnegie Hall, in New York City, alongside choristers to form the Distinguished Concerts Singers International, a choir of distinction.
It will showcase the World Premiere of newly-commissioned work by Sir Karl Jenkins, the most performed living composer in the world.
Dr Jonathan Griffith, artistic director conductor for Distinguished Concerts International New York City (DCINY), said: “The Ripon Choral Society received this invitation because of the quality and high level of musicianship demonstrated by the singers.
“These wonderful musicians not only represent a high quality of music and education, but they also become ambassadors for the entire community.
“This is an event of extreme pride for everybody and deserving of the community’s recognition and support.”
The performance will take place on Monday, January 15, 2018.
