A COLLABORATION with a top London gallery has resulted in a new sculpture exhibition opening in the region.

Pangolin London, which represents some of the UK’s leading established and emerging sculptors, is mounting its first exhibition of sculptural ceramics in North Yorkshire in collaboration with the Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park at Grewelthorpe near Ripon.

The show has been inspired by the York Art Gallery Centre of Ceramic Art as well as the extensive sculpture collection of Peter Roberts, the owner of the Himalayan Garden.

The exhibition will feature pieces by artists whose work is in collections at the Tate, the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the New York Museum of Arts and Design.

Melonie Gault, gallery manager at Pangolin London, said the Himalayan Gardens provides the “perfect backdrop” for the exhibition.

Some 15 artists will be represented in the show, alongside the garden’s permanent collection of 60 dramatic sculptures. It opens from October 14 to November 5.
