THOUSANDS of canines of all shapes and sizes have strutted their stuff in the judging rings of one of the biggest dog shows in the country.

Around 7,000 dogs spanning almost 200 breeds took part in the three-day Darlington Dog Show held at Ripon Racecourse from Friday.

The final day of the show on Sunday saw the Crufts-qualifying classes in gundog and toy breeds judged.

They followed classes in hound, terrier and utility on the opening day of the show, with working and pastoral dogs judged on Saturday.

As well as enjoying the best that breeders had to offer, visitors were able to browse a vast array of trade stands.

The event, which has been held at Ripon since leaving Darlington in 2013, is expected to have attracted around 20,000 visitors.
