A SALVATION Army team is launching its Christmas Appeal for donations.

Members of the Salvation Army corps in Ripon is asking that Christmas donations are brought to their hall, the Reach-Out Centre on Lead Lane, by the end of November if possible.

The final deadline for donations is December 8.

A spokesman said: “This may seem early; but the task of matching gifts to specific families is a mammoth one.

“Last year the kindness of local groups and individual citizens contributed to the help given to over 70 families.”

The corps is launching the Christmas Appeal at the Harvest Festival on September 24 by asking for Christmas gifts for the harvest table.

The harvest meeting starts at 10.45am at the headquarters on Lead Lane and is open to all. All gifts should be unwrapped.
