AN open gardens event will be held in the village of Copt Hewick, near Ripon, on June 4.
Seven contrasting gardens will be on display, from 2pm to 5pm, in a new venture for the village.
The gardens will represent the variation in cottage gardens typical of a small Yorkshire village.
The event – £3 entry – will be in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research and will also feature a plant stall in the listed village hall, where teas and homemade cakes will be available all afternoon.
Parking will be available by the village green, near the church.
