THREE youngsters have proved they have what it takes to be the culinary stars of the future.
The pupils from St Wilfred’s Catholic Primary School in Ripon took part in a competition with other schools at the city’s award-winning Lockwoods restaurant
Ten-year-olds Isla Ellis, Lucy Simenacz and Maisie Willis were declared winners due to their their beautifully designed and well thought-out British recipes.
Restaurant owner Matthew Lockwood launched the competition to help make children more aware of the pleasures of growing, cooking and eating good local food.
“The standard from these three children was incredibly high,” he said.
“The girls had thought about the recipe, local ingredients and drawn amazing pictures of their dish.
“I can see budding chefs in the making - watch out Junior MasterChef.”
