MORE than 1,500 vehicles will be coming together for one of the UK’s largest celebrations of vintage tractors and engines.

Tractor Fest will be taking place at Newby Hall near Ripon on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11. The two day festival will feature 1,500 exhibits of vintage tractors, engines, commercial vehicles, cars and motorcycles.

Organised by the Yorkshire Vintage Association and sponsored by Europe’s leading agricultural and machinery auctioneers Cheffins, the festival usually attracts more than 10,000 visitors.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the show at Newby Hall, as well as the hundredth anniversary of the manufacture of Fordson Tractors by Henry Ford. The theme - the Legacy of Henry Ford – celebrates the role Ford tractors played in transforming the UK’s agriculture.

There will be a range of family activities, arts and crafts, interactive exhibits and trade and food stands.

The first day will culminate in the popular spectacle of the ‘March of the Tractors’ which will start at Newby Hall and follow a route into the centre of Ripon. The sounding of the Ripon Hornblower’s historic horn will send the tractors on their way back to Newby Hall at 7pm.

Tickets are priced at £11.50 adults, £8.50 children and are free for children under four.
