A BUSINESS park is giving back to a rural community by helping business growth following the development of a brownfield site.

The Rabbit Hill Business Park, on the outskirts Boroughbridge, developed by landscape and forestry supplier Green-tech, now houses a number of business which all opened earlier this year.

The 10-acre brownfield site was developed following capital allowances advice from Yorkshire accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott.

The local farming community has also benefitted, having being provided with information on rural crime and cybercrime at a recent event, which offered attendees the opportunity to speak with the rural taskforce about any concerns.

One of the traders on the site, the Rabbit Hill Country Store, owned by Katy and Glenn Brown, was one of the first businesses to open its doors to customers, and has since become a vital asset to the local community.

Since its launch in March, the store has focused on giving back to the local community, hosting a wide range of free informative events, including seminars on animal care hosted by Dr Becky Lees, a veterinary technical manager, which are designed to make the store more than a local community shop.

The business park, between junctions 47 and 48 on the A1, now houses warehouses, office for rental and a number of retail units.
