Ripon Cathedral hosts Summer Organ festival
THIS year’s Summer Organ Festival at Ripon Cathedral celebrates the art of arranging orchestral music to be played on the organ.
The series starts on Tuesday, July 5 with internationally renowned German organist Hans Uwe Hielscher, and also features a number of other distinguished performers including Daniel Cook from Westminster Abbey. The recitals happen every Tuesday evening from July 5 to August 16.
Other performers include international concert artist Tom Bell, Organist of Lichfield Cathedral Martyn Rawles, and the organists of Ripon Cathedral. Further information is available on the cathedral website, and tickets are on sale from the cathedral shop, costing £8 in advance, £10 on the door; accompanied under 16s free.
