THE BIGGEST tractor festival in the North is due to take place next weekend and will involve a mass “tootle” to wish the Queen a 'happy birthday'.

Tractor Fest is to take place at Newby Hall near Ripon on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12.

It will celebrate all things Yorkshire and involve an array of vintage tractors, cars, lorries, engines and motorcycles.

Among the 1,500 exhibits will be vintage vehicles produced in the county, as well as interactive exhibits, vintage tractor pulling, the chance for children to drive mini tractors around a track and trade stands.

Saturday will end with the March of the Tractors from 5.30pm - a parade of vehicles from Newby Hall to Ripon’s historic market square.

At 11am on Saturday, June 11, tractors will take part in a loud, collective “tootle” to send the Queen birthday wishes.

Entry to the event is £10 adults, £9 seniors and £8 for children and free for under-fours.

The event has been organised by the Yorkshire Vintage Association and Newby Hall and Gardens and takes place between 10am and 5pm.
