GLOBE-trotting gardener Raymond Abraham has found a Himalayan home – in the heart of North Yorkshire.
After a career that has taken him all around the world he has joined the team at the award-winning 20-acre Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park at Grewelthorpe, near Ripon, as head gardener.
His previous posts include working at the Savill Gardens in Windsor Great Park which is world famous for its collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. He also worked at a nursery in Derbyshire which grew plants under Royal Warrant for Windsor and other Royal gardens.
He also gardened in Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand before returning to the UK and moving to another famous rhododendron garden - Minterne House in Dorset.
Also joining the five-strong gardening team are plantsmen Phil Cormie and Gabriel Ramos-Rocchio.
The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park has some 20,000 plants including more than 1,400 rhododendron varieties, 250 azalea varieties and 150 different magnolias all set in a beautiful valley with scenic woodland walks.
