DETECTIVES have appealed for details about cold callers offering to carry out work over the New Year period, following a string of burglaries in Ripon and Knaresborough.

Police said on January 2, a house on Park Gate, Knaresborough was broken into and an Audi A3 car was taken from the drive, along with jewellery and electrical items from inside the house.

Police also want to hear from anyone who noticed a white van in the area.

In Ripon, two house burglaries were reported between 27 and 31 December.

A photo frame was stolen from a home on Whitcliffe Grove, while coins and jewellery were taken Mallorie Park Drive near High Cleugh.

In an attempted burglary on Harrogate Road, Ripon, on New Year’s Eve, several windows of the property were damaged as burglars attempted to get into the house.
