A HIGH-powered motorbike was stolen from a car park by thieves who are believed to have hoisted it into an old van.

The red Triumph 1050 Sprint ST, registration number YJ07 UWU, was taken from the rear of Lister’s Farm Shop, Langthorpe, near Boroughbridge between 2pm and 3.30pm on November 5.

At about the same time, an unknown man briefly entered the shop to enquire if any tarmac work was required.

Of medium build, he was about 5ft 5in tall and with swept-back dark hair and wore a fluorescent waistcoat and work clothes.

A white Ford Transit van, which was dirty and in poor condition, was also seen leaving the shop car park at about the same time.

It is believed to be the shape made in about 2004 and it had a patch of rust on the top right above the rear doors.

PC Neil Roworth said: “From our enquiries into the incident, it is suspected that the motorcycle was lifted into the van and driven away.

“I am appealing for people to come forward with any information that could help to recover the motorcycle or identify the suspects.”
