Events in Newsham up to the Diamond Jubilee.
Library Service.
Following the withdrawal of the Richmondshire Library van, a selection of library books is now available in Newsham Village Hall from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Mondays and 11:30 to 12:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. No library ticket is necessary. Details from Rose Davies on 01833 621300.
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
There will be a picnic on the village green on Saturday 2nd June at 4:00pm. Everybody is welcome - bring your own picnic. A magician will provide entertainment from 4:30 to 5:30. If weather conditions prevent picnicing outside, the village hall will be used instead.
During the weekend there will be a scarecrow trail on the theme of "Royalty" and also a competition for the house with the best jubilee decorations. This can include hanging baskets, tubs, bunting - anything goes!

Saturday May 26th - Carnival Dance. Live music from "The Exploding Buddahs". Tickets £5.00.
Sunday June 3rd - Carnival Quiz at 8:00pm, Smallways Inn.
Wednesday June 6th - Darts and Pool.
Thursday June 7th - Quoits on the green.
Friday 8th June - Duck Race, Barbeque and Fun Fair on the green.
Saturday 9th June - Fancy Dress, Sports and Fun Fair in the green.
