STAFF and parents of Rooftops Montessori Nursery School in Richmond, North Yorkshire held a charity day for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance as part of celebrations for the Tour de Yorkshire.
An exercise bike in the foyer of the nursery was used to cycle the 184km from Richmond to Scarborough – the race's stage three distance – with the team taking turns to reach the final destination, plotting the journey on a map with hourly updates to Facebook.
The nursery sold refreshments and home baked cakes to passers by and raised £213 for air ambulance.
Rooftops Montessori Nursery is a private day care facility in Richmond for children aged up to five years with a 'good' Ofsted rating.
Plans to develop a new baby room and garden area for the children are in development to be announced soon.
