This year's Newsham carnival events have been announced.
Saturday May 18th - Carnival dance in the village hall. Live music from the Exploding Buddahs from 8:00pm. Licenced Bar. Tickets at £6 from Clare Alsop on 01833 621423.
Sunday May 26th - Carnival quiz in the Smallways Inn starting at 8:00pm.
Wednesday May 29th - Darts and Pool from 8:00pm in the Smallways Inn.
Thursday May 30th - Quoits on the village green from 7:00pm (Newsham residents and families only).
Friday May 31st - Duck Race and Barbeque. First race at 6:00pm. Barbeque, beer tent and fun fair from 6:30pm.
Saturday June 1st - Fancy Dress, Sports & Tea, Tug-of-War, Funfair and Beer Tent. Fancy dress at 1:45pm followed by sports, games and tea in the village hall. Funfair and beer tent on the green from 4:00pm.
This year's scarecrow trail will be on the theme of "Nursery Rhymes". Organisers hope to have scarecrows out on Sunday May 26th and left in place throughout carnival week.
