POLICE are continuing to appeal for sightings of a missing man who has not been seen since Wednesday night.

Duncan Burgess, 50, was last seen at the Old Hill Inn in Chapel-le-Dale near Ingleton in west of the Yorkshire Dales late on Wednesday night (May, 30).

Officers say they are becoming very concerned for Duncan's safety and appeal to anyone who has seen him since Wednesday or knows where he is now, to contact police.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Duncan has no access to a vehicle or money but is physically fit and can walk long distances.

"He is also used to living rough.

So we are particularly appealing to walkers, campers who might have seen him on their travels, and anyone who may have given a lift to Duncan or offered accommodation in the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and Lancashire borders area."

Mr Burgess is described as white with short, dark brown hair, brown eyes and of stocky build.

He was last seen wearing a red fleece, a blue jacket, dark coloured trousers and carrying a large rucksack.

If you have seen Mr Burgess or know where he is now, contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and pass information to the Force Control Room.
