SOLDIERS who lost their lives in the First World War will be remembered next week with a creative poppy display.
Richmondshire Remembers group want to honour those from the Green Howards Regiment who fell during the Kaiserschlacht offensive from March 21 until April 5, 1918.
Their names and poppies will be displayed on railings of the Friary Gardens in Richmond.
Richmondshire Remembers co-ordinator, Gregan Davis, is appealing to residents to help set up the display, and hopes to attract army veterans and children.
He said: βIt is vitally important to keep telling the story of the sacrifice and bravery of previous generations who have enabled the us to live our lives in peace and freedom.β
The event will start at 10am on Saturday, March 10.
