A FORMER mayor has welcomed friends, relatives and special guests to a party in celebration of his 100th birthday.
Frank Faulkner, who was the mayor of Richmond from 1976 to 1977, marked the occasion at Greyfriars in the town.
The birthday celebrations were held in the company of Stuart Parsons – who is currently filling the honour.
He said: “It was brilliant to be invited along to celebrate Frank's birthday which had a great turnout. Making 100 is a great achievement after all.
“He served the town very well, so it was lovely to give him a special day in recognition of his dedication.”
His family organised the event, providing a large cake and invitations.
Richmond Police also dropped in, later taking to social media to wish him well.
A Twitter post said: “Frank Faulkner. Mayor of Richmond in 1976-77 is celebrating his 100th birthday. An honour and a privilege to enjoy biscuits and a coffee with him. Happy birthday Frank.”
