THOUSANDS of pounds is set to be poured into conservation projects in the Yorkshire Dales thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Its players have raised £400,000 for the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT), to support projects that help sustain the landscape, environment, economy and communities of the Dales.
The award brings the total funding received by YDMT from the lottery to more than £1.5m over the last nine years.
David Sharrod, YDMT chief executive, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for this incredible support, which has transformed us a charity and has a huge impact on what we can achieve for the Yorkshire Dales.
“Player support enhances all aspects of our work, enabling us to continue long-running projects such as woodland planting and wildflower meadow restoration but also helping us to respond to changing needs in our area.”
Clara Govier, of the People’s Postcode Lottery, said they were “delighted” to help.
