STUDENTS were offered a unique approach to fulfilling their dreams as a sixth form opened its doors to the community.

Hundreds of Year 11s and their families descended on Richmond School and Sixth Form College to hear about past achievements and future plans.

Head teacher designate Jenna Potter said: “Our uniqueness is in the care and attention we give students and in the way we track their progress. Additional help is always available. Our goal is to make their dreams come true."

She said Ofsted had highlighted the positive learning environment and the positive relationship that existed between staff and students.

More than 80 per cent of sixth formers went on to their preferred university, 31 per cent at Russell Group establishments including Oxford and Cambridge.

The college was also about to enter a new era of self-government as a multi-academy trust that would realise "exciting" opportunities with other top schools.

“Our mission is to provide the best learning experience and high quality outcomes for young people in this area,”she said.
