AN evening preview of the forthcoming Autumn Fine Art Sale at Tennants Auctioneers in aid of charity raised more than £1,000.

The preview evenings take place three times a year ahead of Tennants Spring, Summer and Autumn Fine Art Sales and provide the opportunity for invited guests to view prestigious items and collections ahead of each sale.

At the same time, the evenings raise much needed funds for local good causes.

Friends of Garget Walker House was the selected charity for the Autumn Preview Evening as it provides resources for people with dementia who are attending Garget Walker House in Richmond, North Yorkshire.

The charity also provides the clients with activities and events as well as giving important respite for their carers.

Director of Tennants, Jane Tennant said: “The Preview Evenings are a traditional part of our sales calendar and we are delighted to be able to take the opportunity to help raise awareness of local charities at the same time as inviting our guests to view the forthcoming sale."

Friends of Garget Walker House Chair, Sheila Blacklock said: “We are delighted to have raised such a significant amount for the charity and our thanks go to Tennants and our committee of volunteers for making the event such a success.”
