A TATTOO artist who lost his friend while serving in the Armed Forces is running his own distinctive remembrance appeal.

Chris Moss, who owns K2 Body Art in Richmond, launched a tattoo poppy appeal in memory of Samuel Joseph Robinson who was killed by an improvised explosive in Afghanistan.

Mr Moss raised has already raised over £4,000 in previous years for the Royal British Legion (RBL) with his poppy tattoo design.

“We are dedicated to providing charitable tattoos that represent the spirit of the poppy appeal," he said.

“The tattoo world is proud to be using skills and talents to help the RBL by means of artwork, donations and most of all tattoos the public can carry with them permanently.”

This year the studio is offering tattoos on Remembrance Day using a simple image of a poppy.

Mr Moss hopes to raise even more cash by involving tattoo artists from across the country.

He added: “We were committed to doing the appeal in Samuel’s memory and after he visited the studio with tattoos on his back that he wanted tattooing over.

“For all the work our soldiers it feels great to give something back.

“May I also thank our fellow tattoo artists and suppliers for the support and massive generosity. Here's to many years success.”
