ORGANISERS of next year’s Richmond Live festival have launched a funding appeal to ensure the event is a smash hit.
The popular festival, which attracts thousands of visitors to the town, was cancelled this summer for the first time in its 18-year history but organisers hope that next year’s event will be the biggest yet.
The event is entirely organised by volunteers and reliant on funding so this year the team have launched a crowdfunding appeal so that anybody can donate to the festival.
Richmond company Purple Creative Studios given the appeal an early boost by donating a generous £1,000 and Mike Jinks, committee chairman said: “Without the support of the council, local businesses and residents, Richmond Live literally couldn’t go ahead, as we rely upon the funds up front to lay the foundations for the show.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we receive, and this year Purple Creative Studios have already been extremely generous by giving a £1000 donation to the event. We can’t thank them enough.”
