SOME of the region's top musical talent will be taking their acts to a new level as they perform in Britain's highest pub next month.

The Tan Hill Inn, in Swaledale, North Yorkshire. is preparing to put on the annual Hillfest music festival on September 9.

Standing at 1,732 above sea level, the famous pub has already seen performances from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Scouting For Girls and British Sea Power.

Acts this year include The Spirit Levellers, Hayley McKay, James Robson and The Lovely Burn and Joe Treacy.

Owner Louise Peace said: "This year we wanted to showcase what this area has to offer - there are so many talented musicians locally and it’s great to have the opportunity for them to put on a show." Tickets are £20 and includes free camping. To book call 01833-628246.
