THREE charities have received donations of more than £400 each thanks to fundraising by the past chairman of Richmondshire District Council.
Councillor Tony Duff handed over cheques totalling £1,223 to Yorkshire Cancer Research, Help for Heroes and Richmondshire Community and Voluntary Action – money raised through raffles and donations during his year in office.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is the only charity dedicated to tackling the county’s cancer problems, Help for Heroes supports people with injuries and illnesses sustained while serving in the armed forces and the RCVA is the local support and development organisation for Richmondshire and the Volunteer Centre, providing a range of support services to voluntary and community groups, organisations and volunteers.
